What is the point?

You order an item, it is sent, via Royal Mail, you receive an email telling you it has been dispatched with a tracker number. You click on the link and.... Royal Mail tells you there is no information. The last time this happened the only information I got was to tell me it had been delivered. Funny but I already knew that 'cos I had it in my hot sweaty paws !

Enough of this whinging. So post holiday things.... Not a lot actually, met up with Stephanie and Sarah last Wednesday and a trip out. We meet at Selfridges and hop the bus down to Trafalgar Square, a walk down Whitehall to show Sarah the sights. Of course living here we walk past these things without a second thought, horse guards, the cenotaph etc, down to the Houses of Parliament etc, snap, snap, snap she goes. From there we take the train to Tower Hill, lunch, in St Catherines Dock at PingPong, mmmmm, where we are treated wonderfully. A wander around the exterior of the Tower of London and its home time.

Sunday there is hastily arranged outing, off to see Dolenta and her partner Andy plus little Hoshi for a wander over Trent Park and we are joined by Peter and Sarah.

I elect to do blokey but, well it didn't turn out too well. I seem to have problems in that area these days and wind up somewhere in the middle..

It is quite sad to see the state of the grounds of after Middlesex Uni have moved out :-(

A glorious day Monday means getting the tan really on the move so its nudie sunbathing at home, plenty of protection unlike while out on Sunday. Madame is actually getting tanned legs which is giving her much pleasure.

Tuesday sees madame and I off up town, Oxford St of course. A breakfast in Pret and a wander down to M&S. I need knickers. Well ladies swimsuits as you can well imagine are not that good at hiding dangly bits so I need something to err... keep things under control and out of sight. Of course this means we have to walk around and inevitably it means we find other items that take our fancy. A quick discussion results in us exiting empty handed and a dash to Primark. If we manage to find something there then M&S will be given a miss if not we shall return. Of course all this is pointless, we do both in the end.
It is sooo lovely that we advise and discuss prospective purchases for each other. To have someone pick you out a swimsuit and tell you it is rather cute and should buy it is fabulous, to stand in the queue together waiting to pay without turning a hair where it is patently obvious to all and sundry that the items are yours and you are not buying them for anyone else. Aaaanyway we return to M&S, madame gets her floral trousers and I get a fab hairy cardigan, well shrug, well shrugigan. Once home we find that the knickers will require alteration as they show, not a good look, just as well they are unfinished so a little trim her and a little trim there and... prefecto !

Xmas

So here we are post New Year. Xmas and its latter celebrations were exhausting. The wind up to Christmas was not too bad as we food shopped early in the day to avoid the pushing and shoving. A mere ten to lunch xmas day so the turkey got cooked xmas eve. Madame and I opened our presents prior to any arrivals....

Plus an Elliot Rhodes belt and Ted Baker handbag!

Lunch and washing up out of the way and it was time to get the glad rags on and off just out of London to a friends, just nine of us in all. Silly games ensued and much naughty food was consumed.

Got home around 10 am Boxing day morning and straight into lunch preparations for twelve today! With that out of the way the daughter decided that the flu symptoms had got too bad and up the hospital madame went. Luckily they saw her quickly and sent her home with antibiotics and within two or three days she had recovered.

Met up with an ex work colleague during the week for lunch so much gossiping and merriment ensued. A couple of visits to Brent Cross one of which resulted in finding a bargain in Lipsy. As an aquaintance once said... I love Lipsy but would it love me back? Well this one does......

New Years eve brought a nice surprise. All prepared for a quiet night in a late afternoon text from a friend resulted in a trip out to Dolenta's and saw us getting home at 10am New Years Day. I had no sleep at all, 30 hours of it. Peter and Sarah were there, Dolenta got Peter plastered and he went to bed at about 12.30 am in the bed we were to use. Sarah moved him to Dolenta's bed. Dolenta then went to her own bed about 3 am with Peter in it then unbeknown to us he went to the loo and got back into the original bed but he didn't know that madame was in it ! We only found that when Andy went to go to bed about 4.00. Sara and I were going to have the double lilo but decided that 2 or three hours sleep was going to do more harm than good so sat up and chatted and did the washing up !

Not content with all this gadding about the day after New Years Day we are off out again to see friends. More very naughty food and convivial chats sees us in bed at 1.30 am ! My goodness we need a holiday to get some rest.

A pheonix rises

A trip to the new and as yet unopened Breathless shop yesterday. Madam and I went down by tube and met up with Dolenta and Andy in midst of decorating what appears to be a far better laid out shop. Soon madam, Andy and I have left them to it and wander into the gentrified part of Kings Cross. Gone are the gasometers and redone roads and buildings sparkle in the sunshine.

Of course its all rather trendy and thereby expensive. We meet up with Andy's cousin Stephanie and wander back to the shop for a chat before crossing the road into a time warp. An old fashioned pub, an Irish pub with hurling on the telly, well multiple tellies. Oh dear, I do not exactly fit in with the locals but they are friendly :-) A little drinkie and off to find something to eat. Poor Andy is starving. We wander up to the Euston Road and into yet another dive of a pub, The Rocket. Poor starving Andy, everything he chooses from the menu is... off, tee hee. Food eaten we return to the shop and take our leave. Stephanie has retired to the pub opposite so in we go to say our goodbyes and most of the lunchtime customers are still there at 6.30.

Today is T-girl Stephanie day, off to Camden. A wander round the stalls and shops in the markets then down the high street, we get to Camden Station and then its up Parkway to Pizza Express for lunch so I can more or less keep to the diet. Post lunch we return to the high street and pop into the Oxford Arms for a drink. We return to the market via the Canal and over the bridge by the Ice Wharf. Another wander and then its homeward bound.

BBQ

After two girlie days last Friday and Saturday with Stephanie its yet another one on Sunday, a BBQ at Peter and Sarah's. Unfortunately we are sans Dolenta but Andy is there with his cousin Stephanie, yes another one. Pierre comes with his partner Julia and to our delight makeup artiste and hairdresser to the stars of screen and TV Mark arrives. I have lovely chats with Sarah who bolsters my confidence no end when she says I am one of the most convincing girls she knows. Aaaanway we all have a lovely afternoon/evening getting home about 11.30 and they only live a couple of miles away. Whether we do or not remains to be seen but we get an invite to stay with Pierre and Julia in their recently purchased 8 hectare mini estate near Lincoln :-)

Stephanie asks us if we would like to go to Palma in September. Dolenta will be visiting her mother there and her, Andy and Steph are going so by Monday morning the credit card is glowing having booked hotel and flights.

Two to go

Well after much wringing of hands and indecision there are two more outfits to try and that will be Berlin sorted. Yes more straining at corset laces yesterday and much disappointment, corsets that didn't quite fit, and before you ask too big, although I did locate an A-line latex skirt in pink and purple that could be added to the wardrobe. Of course there are outfits that I would use in a flash but with airline travel as it is they are either too bulky or too heavy or both.

Its the excitement of shopping today, oh the joy then the sorting of Howard's website. Tomorrow is a dash to Dolenta, the gloves I picked up the other day were just too small so she is making a slightly larger pair.
